Cancellation, Refund & Intellectual Property Policy

1. General Policy
Institutum Antiquitatis is a Pennsylvania-registered non-profit organization. To maintain high educational standards and small class sizes, all registrations are considered final. By completing your enrollment, you explicitly agree to the terms and conditions outlined below.

2. Cancellation and Refund Window
We offer a limited refund window to ensure the viability of our courses:

  • Full Refund: Requests for a full refund (less a $50 administrative fee) must be submitted in writing to info@institutumantiquitatis.org no later than 15 business days before the first scheduled session. Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment within 10 business days of approval.

  • No Refunds: No refunds, partial or full, will be issued for cancellations made less than 15 business days before the start of the course, or once the course has commenced. In such cases, the student may receive a credit towards a future course, valid for 6 months from the original course start date.

  • Absences: No refunds or credits are provided for sessions missed by the student for any reason.

  • Business Days: For the purposes of this policy, "business days" are defined as Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays.

3. Non-Profit Status Disclosure
As a Pennsylvania registered non-profit, your course fees directly support our mission of promoting Classical languages. We appreciate your understanding of our limited refund window.

4. Intellectual Property and Course Materials
All materials provided during the course—including but not limited to syllabi, handouts, digital presentations, Greek/Latin exercises, and any video or audio recordings of the live sessions—are the exclusive intellectual property of Institutum Antiquitatis or its instructors.

  • Personal Use Only: These materials are licensed to the enrolled student for personal, non-commercial educational use only.

  • Prohibitions: Students are strictly prohibited from recording, capturing, duplicating, distributing, or publishing any part of the live sessions or course materials without prior written consent from Institutum Antiquitatis.

  • Access Expiration: Access to digital materials or recordings (if provided) may expire after the conclusion of the course or after the availability terms explicitly stated in the course syllabus.

5. Course Cancellations & Force Majeure

  • Cancellation by Institutum: In the event that Institutum Antiquitatis must cancel a course due to low enrollment or instructor unavailability, students will be notified via email and issued a 100% refund of the tuition fee.

  • Force Majeure: Institutum Antiquitatis shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes outside its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargos, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor or materials, or online service interruptions.
